I added these two links to my site to share with you all. Both sites offer to buy your old gadgets from you. They will send a box to you and inspect the item and send you money. Now, I need to go through my closet full of old gadgets.
Apple reported their biggest profit yet. Surpassing analysts expectations with $10 billion in revenue, Apple seems to have forgotten that there is recession going on and companies are disintegrating around them. As a matter of fact, I just read that Intel is cutting 6,000 jobs. They must be doing something right.
Let’s look at some interesting points for Apple’s fiscal quarter. In parenthesis are the growth percentages from the same quarter a year ago.
- 2.5+ million Mac computers shipped (+9%)
- 34% growth in portables and 25% decline in desktops
- 22.7+ million iPods sold (+3%)
- Company record
- Best iTunes sales quarter yet
- 4.3+ million iPhones sold (+88%) <–WTF!
- 13.7 million iPhone sales for the year
- Over 15,000 Applications available for iPhone/Touch
- Over 500 million downloads
- Plans to open 25 new retail stores in fiscal 2009, half being international
I saved the best/interesting for last. Apple is reporting a 300% increase in its Apple TV sales! Yes, the “hobby” tech is still alive and kicking. AppleInsider has an article on the report.

Ever wanted to have Safari full screen? Auto-dated download folders? More search engines? Then you should try Glims. Head to MacHangOut.com and check out the Safari add-on. It’s worth the download. The program is in Beta but they are working bugs pretty hard.
From their website:
Glims adds a cocktail of features to Safari (Tabs, Thumbnails, Full Screen, Search Engines, Search Suggestions, Forms autocomplete on, Dated download folders, Type Ahead …)
I saw an article from TechRadar UK and it has a good 10 fixes for folks who have a Mac computer. I’ve run across a couple of these problems myself and had to search Google to find the answers.
